The Authority of Scripture

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

Societies change, politics and cultures evolve, and we as individuals change our minds, but one thing remains constant: the Authority of Scripture.

This Christian doctrine asserts that the Bible alone is our ultimate guide for all aspects of our faith and life.

Today, humanity faces complex issues—both social and political—the wisdom found in Scripture is more relevant than ever. We are at risk of being swept up by trends or ideologies if we don’t cling to the foundational truths—centered on the authority of Scripture— that has anchored the body of Christ for centuries.

The authority of Scripture reminds us that the Bible is not only relevant but essential for providing direction at all times, both good and challenging. It enables us to critically evaluate contemporary beliefs, practices, and circumstances through the lens of God's unchanging Word. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s word will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).

This truth also confronts cultural tendencies that lead us to prioritize personal experience or popular opinion over biblical wisdom. In a world where authority is frequently questioned and morals are often dismissed, Scripture stands as the definitive guide for us to discern right from wrong.

Scripture solidifies our identity as God's children and this empowers us to face the future with confidence and courage.
