AUTHOR OF INFLUENCE

How much influence do we have as authors? Sometimes we never know who is affected by the things we write. As a writer, author, poet, songwriter, rapper, blogger -- however one is getting their message out -- we end up writing for ourselves. Not in an egotistical way -- simply because whatever is inside -- it will keep knawing and nagging until we write it down! Musicians and artists know about this, too.
Then, to have the courage to put it out in the world! What are we afraid of, and is it real? Oh, you know very well what happens when you put yourself out there. Take a few moments and scroll down the comments on some (most) of the youtube videos out there. Yikes, that will scare the crap out of you! I'm sure you've witnessed this with the comments on social media sites, too. Something quite innocent can spark a surge of rude and hateful comments. Are there that many hurting people out there just waiting to lash out?
It does seem so. Unhappy, unfulfilled people -- lost and stumbling around in the darkness of their own negativity and self-pity.
Some of us write to reach those people. Some of us used to be those people. Some writers are writing from that very same dark and dismal place. Guess that is their right, though. More fuel for the fire of the pity pit.
Learning to think happy thoughts -- speaking positive words -- opening the heart and mind -- stopping yourself when you catch yourself slipping into the dark pit -- yup, all that stuff takes a great deal of courage, and a whole lot of practice.
We all influence others. Attitudes influence business. Words affect others. Deeds matter. Thoughts matter. Love matters. YOU matter. I matter. Our world matters. Our lives matter.
Everything we do, think or say influences others, and it influences our lives and the outcome of every situation. None of that stuff is out of your control. YOU control it all! So, if your life sucks and everyone around you sucks -- guess what? No -- I won't say it -- what I will say is -- YOU ARE MUCH MORE POWERFUL than you've ever dreamed! More powerful than you've been lead to believe. More influential than you ever thought possible.
So, think about endless possibilities. Think about your power. Think about yourself and dismiss every limiting thought and belief you ever held about yourself. If you've felt like a misfit -- someone who just didn't fit in -- like you are always on the outside looking in -- LOOKING IN -- is a GOOD THING -- and so is being a misfit!
See yourself in a place of influence. Stop trying to fit into that square hole. Write down your thoughts so you can organize them, look at them, and stop judging yourself as NOTHING, or of no purpose. Share your thoughts. The world needs you -- TO BE YOU!
“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
