Authenticity

One of Merriam-Webster’s definitions for the word authentic is “true to one's own personality, spirit, or character.”

This is the purpose of our journey to create a sustainable values-based culture at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. If we can work together to create an environment that allows each member of the TTUHSC Team to be authentic; then we will each be free to live own character at work. Our character is the combination of what we were given at birth (nature) and what we were taught during our formidable years (nurture).

Living our values is the result of reminding ourselves to be authentic.

There is a viral video on social media that shows, Katelyn Ohashi, a young gymnast from UCLA, deliver a perfect 10.0 floor routine. This is a great example of someone who is living with authenticity. Katelyn inspires us to be true to our own personality, spirit and character.
