I was coaching a C-Level executive who had lost confidence in his agency as it faced another impending merger. The uncertainty led him, and many others in senior roles, to question their future. Some were looking for new opportunities but feared ending up in a similar unstable situation. Agency consolidations meant layoffs, and some hired recently were soon out of work. This uncertainty left my client feeling disconnected from the company’s purpose, which seemed more misguided with every shift and cutback.
