What is Leadership?

Leadership?is an interpersonal process in which a leader influences followers (Dansereau et al., 1995). Leadership elements in some organizations include leaders, followers, and their relational interactions. Yukl (2006) defines?leadership?as "a process whereby intentional influence is exerted by one person over other people to guide, structure, and facilitate activities and relationships in a group or organization" (p. 8).

Transformational Leadership

Have you ever worked in an organization where there was mutual respect? Your team members were?loyal, satisfied with their jobs, and competent in their roles as individuals and followers under your leadership? This is an example of you being a transformational leader.?Transformational leadership?is a leadership style that can motivate followers to exhibit positive changes within leadership.?

Transformational leaders are typically vivacious, passionate, authentic, and happy. These leaders are sincerely interested in and involved in the leadership process and readily available to assist their team members in discovering their maximum potential.

4 Dimensions of Transformational Leadership?

According to Dr. Ronald?Riggio?of Cutting-Edge Leadership, transformational leadership is the most widely studied of all theories of effective leadership. He notes that leaders who "transform" groups or organizations focus on their followers, encouraging them to improve their performance and develop their sense of leadership style.
