Austrian company acquired stake in Slovenian renewables developer

The Austrian company Energie AG Oberosterreich has acquired a 29.4 % stake in Slovenian company AAE Gamit, which develops projects for the construction of wind farms and solar power plants in the country.

?

Energie AG Oberosterreich announced that the transaction to purchase a stake in AAE Gamit has been completed, marking the official entry of the company into the Slovenian market. The aim of this business move, as stated, is the development of wind farms and solar power plants in Slovenia with a total capacity of 180 MW.

?

The Supervisory Board of the company approved the investment in AAE Gamit in March 2023.

It should be noted that in January 2023, the Slovenian Government approved a spatial plan for the construction of the Dolenja Vas wind farm with a capacity of up to 66 MW, which AAE is developing. Slovenia is among the few EU countries without a single wind farm, and the Government recently refused to issue permits for installing wind turbines on Pohorje and Rogla.

?

Energie AG has now announced that it is developing four wind projects with a capacity of 140 MW and four solar projects totaling 40 MW in Slovenia. The projected annual production of wind farms is 309 GWh, and photovoltaic plants 51 GWh.

?

AAE Gamit is crucial for achieving the goal of producing 1 TWh of energy from renewable sources annually by 2035, stated Energie AG.
