AUSTRALIAN RUGBY and I... (A biographical account, Nov 2020)

My response to Grahame Fear re his comments in a Facebook posting of mine from yesterday = (Wrong timing Grahame, just kidding, ahemmm) Actually I feel, and am very well today. For the last 8 months, I've managed to mentally conquer COVID19. To be precise, since March 2020. So, good timing indeed. - I know you were specifically correct in your assertion.

YET WE NEED TO LOOK AT THE FULL PICTURE, and the responsibility of those actions and inactions is of the BOARD of DIRECTORS. Ms Raelene Casttle (whom I wouldn't pick to run the chook raffle at the RSL). NZ signed for TV rights in DEC2019, AUS, 11 months later we still have not signed off (??????) - RC, inherited a completely morally and financially depleted and messy ARU. And then Ms Casttle just became part of THE BIG PROBLEM. Hypothetically speaking, If Phil Kearns would have been selected at that time (thanks not, Ealesy) I doubt he would have done a better job (unless the whole Newington maffia (sorry Old Boys Network) would have helped him.

Therefore, precisely due to RA internal dysfunctionality, is what has made Australian Rugby the laughing stock of the rugby world, the 7th underpowered power of today and for the last 25 years. It's beggar's belief, that those Directors of the last 25 years who went to the TOP schools and universities this country offers.

Also have run very successful multi-nationals and their PERSONAL million-dollar-bank-accounts. + + + The oversea$$$$ trips for World Rugby Board Meetings, and/or Rugby World Cups(?), or Hall of Fame inductions (?). It's all there for the enjoyment and pleasure of these experts (and we fund all that). Am I jealous? Fuck-Nooo! - Nevertheless, collectively (they can not even put a 'Business Scrum' to get us out of this gutter! They have managed to send RA to Voluntary Administration and soon crystalised in bankruptcy proceedings. These financial geniuses have been talking about 'selling equity in Aus. Rugby????? - How low can you go? They are bloody good at spending public monies without any accountability. They rack up an enormous debt and after 3 or 4 years move on to greener pastures (?) - Also their GPS' network clean the shit and mess after them.

So we never find anyone GUILTY YOUR HONOUR! I'd say daylight robbery. White gloves' crime. Generalised corruption. ANY FRENCH FRIES WITH THAT????? Australian Rugby has been immersed in a soporiferous rest for no less than 50 years, compliments of the British & French Aristocracy. The truth is in this joint of ill repute, the constitution is crook and a serious drastic extirpation is badly needed.

Hey Hey, for is a jolly good fellow and so say all of us - See? The guilty here are us, who have been voting them and supporting them. Do you think I'm ranting? raving on? Noooooooo mate, I'm just calling just a few home truths.

THE TRUTH, full stop. IN THIS 'JOINT' OF ILL REPUTE, THE CONSTITUTION IS CROOK!

Me, moi and myself? These days biologically I sleep less (don't need it), but since you ask me, the quality of my sleep is outstanding because I have no moral or ethical debts! (However, I do have other debts contracted in exchange for goods and services). My normal living with a very low pension of $550.- per week.

Herewith, I declare that except coach Alan B. Jones, captain Andrew Slack, (and a couple of ex-team-mates) who respected me for who I was and what I stood for. Also, I have had a little army of friends outside the Wallaby and Warringah teams, headed by Brendan Donohue, Colette and their Boys who did help when in bad strife, after retirement and being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type II in 1996. NONE other of them has done me any favours. You see, I do not have my Old Boys network in Australia because I arrived here, 32 years old, and Head of a young family, I came to Oz to save my family and Not to play rugby for the Wallabies, this was a nice bonus.

Yet life and the Providence dealt me a different 'hand' so I did play with what I had, bloody beauty! Life turned out in a very different way, which my family and I have always been very grateful for and very proud of our collective achievements. Nonetheless, from other quarters, just lippy-lip service though! - I guess this may not be Australianism but plain human nature,... on stage they clap you and off it boooo ya!

On the other hand let's face it, Australians do-not-like opinionated-non-conformist people like me!!!! - As Sir Winston Churchill said I STOOD AND STAY TODAY FOR SOMETHING, hence those antipathies, enemies and detractors.

I do stand for: DECENCY, RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY ACTIONS, AND FAIRNESS TO ALL FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS.

In fact, after having graduated With Honours with my 21 years playing and coaching rugby, no one has done me any favours. Now tell me about Australia and its EGALITARIAN SOCIETY? Or the land of the FAIR GO MATE? My conscience and me very well, in peace with myself. I-LUVE-YOUS-ALL (thanks Jeff Fenech for such a lovely wonderful woggish expression! Signed off (moi) the same 32 y.o. fellow Argentinian who arrived at Kingsford-Smith with wife, 2 children, 9 bags, 1 suitcase and $2,000 in my pocket.

SO I CONCLUDING, "DONE GOOD YOUNG MAN", A DECEASED OLD FRIEND WOULD HAVE SAID TO ME IN CONFIDENCE!

TOPO (Wallaby Captain 1987).

Well done Topo... and thanks for the salient reminder of just how badly run has been Rugby Australia. So sad for us on the sideline, but much worse for those of you who played the game with greater expectations of the administration. ??
