An Australian-first digital and animation pathway for clinical genetics appointments wins the Minister’s Award for Innovation

Congratulations to the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit at WCHN and the team at the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health for winning the Minister’s Award for Innovation announced at this year's SA Health awards.

"We're really proud to have developed a digital pathway for families to help them through the process of seeing a clinical geneticist or genetic counsellor. This all started with us trying to make the consent process for genetic testing easier, but we soon realised that there were many other aspects of the appointment that we could improve. So we partnered with Personify (Care), and we developed our own digital platform to be able to, for example find out more about families before they come to us right at the point of referral and getting information to families as well."
