As of 1 July 2024, an update has been made to the government initiative, Australian Apprenticeships Support.?
Apprentice Connect Australia Providers have commenced delivering the new Australian Apprenticeship Support Services program.
The new Specialist Support Services Providers have specialised experience to support:
?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Women in male-dominated trades?
?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? First Nations apprentices
?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Apprentices working towards clean energy occupations
This program will assist apprentices with financial incentives, deliver personalised information and advice on relevant apprenticeship pathways. They will address barriers to retention and completion by delivering strengthened support such as pastoral care, career mentoring and counselling.
The Support Update includes:
Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System changes Phase 2?
In this phase, the financial support is targeted to Australian Apprenticeships in priority occupations on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List. Changes in the Incentive System will provide more support for those in the first year of their apprenticeship with front-loaded.?
Priority Hiring Incentive
Eligible employers of Australian Apprentices in priority occupations will be provided up to $5,000 in the first year of an apprenticeship.
Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment
Provides up to $5,000 for eligible Australian Apprentices in occupations listed on the? Australian Apprenticeship Priority List. Payments have been front loaded to provide greater support in the first year of the apprenticeship.
New Energy Apprentice Support Payment
Apprentices who work in occupations identified as clean energy on the Australian Apprenticeship Priority list may be eligible for the New Energy Apprentice Support Payment.
