AukWords April 2021: Resourcefulness

In the last issue of AukWords for March 2021, I wrote on Soulfully Create. Within it, and amongst much else, I shared... "All of this is to say that Creativity is not an event; it is a process, a journey... evolutionary in nature too. TUGtv is undergoing such. Pandamonium and AukWords too. And the journey and the effort are ever more important than the outcome." I humbly suggest the read and reflect. And, in the recognition of Creativity, I also just published a compilation of blogs from April.
That said, my own journey of Creativity will unfold over the Spring, Summer and beyond. That said, amidst the ending of Term and beginning of a period of rest and recuperation, I woke this morning with a thought.
While life and chocolates is one cool idea... what if those chocolates were also building blocks? Before we eat them, maybe we can make something of them too? As I reflect on the Pandemic and these months ... and what has been taken and given ... I remember that Resourcefulness is a virtue...
... and that "it is not about the resources, but about our Resourcefulness". As I reflect on living in times of real change and challenge... I remember that it is about what we do with what we experience. Pain matters; not that we seek it out... but it matters. Positivity pretends there is no pain nor challenge. Optimism understands there is and that we will find our way through. And, in times of uncertainty our Character is foundational to our Resourcefulness.
Creativity does not happen in a vacuum. Indeed, and in deed, it is a response to life in all of its manifestations and meaning. We truly need Creativity and Resourcefulness. Give yourself permission to unleash it. You have it within you.

I speak, teach, coach, facilitate, lead, write, sing, dance, cartoon and create on that. In 1980, Professor Rolf Hattenauer changed my life. A highly respected expert in Human Resource Management, he expected much of us and he believed much in us. He was an educator and leader of high character. He was extraordinary. To this day and beyond, I try my darnedest to honor his spirit with my own work. That is another story. But I hope I did him service here.
