Empowered Women In Trades (EWIT) Group Australia
Striving for 30% Female Representation by 2030. Join us in shaping a more inclusive future in skilled trades.
August is almost over, so let's recap some EWIT highlights this month, from networking opportunities and skilled trades programs to the Regional Australia Institute's National Summit, our latest podcasts and a big welcome to new Alliance Members!
Welcome To Our Latest EWIT Alliance Members
Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) is proud to introduce our Alliance Membership, a program uniting organisations and businesses to foster diversity and inclusion in the construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. By addressing the skills shortage and empowering women and gender-diverse individuals, we aim to create a more equitable workforce.
At EWIT, we provide resources and support to assist women and gender-diverse individuals to succeed and thrive in the skilled trades. Diversity is key to innovation and addressing the industry's skills gap, making women and gender-diverse individuals a critical part of the solution in traditionally male-dominated trades. Since launching the Alliance, we've welcomed several organisations dedicated to supporting this cause and their leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion is truly inspiring.
As Alliance members, these organisations are vital partners in our mission to reach 30% female representation in skilled trades by 2030. Members actively promote these careers and assist in creating welcoming environments through initiatives like Tool Skills Days, mentoring, and school visits; demonstrating that skilled trades offer rewarding opportunities for everyone.

'The New Frontier,' focusing on solutions and action to meet the ongoing demand for services, housing, and skills across the country.
Last week our Founder, Hacia, had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Regional Australia Institute's National Summit. The session, The Building Blocks of Education - Getting the Foundations Right, was facilitated by Amalie Smith , Chief People Officer at Essential Energy. Hacia was honoured to share the panel with Jenny Dodd , CEO of TAFE Directors Australia, Stephanie Trethewey , Founder and CEO of Motherland, and Andrew Paterson , CEO of Family Day Care Australia.
The discussions were powerful and insightful, focusing on the critical need to build strong educational foundations for regional Australia. As we face important economic and social transitions, it's clear that education is a cornerstone for creating opportunities, ensuring skills development, and shaping the future of our regional communities. The energy and ideas shared in the room truly reflected the summit's theme of 'The New Frontier,' focusing on solutions and action to meet the ongoing demand for services, housing, and skills across the country.
