August round-up ??
Harvest on an AgreenaCarbon farm in Romania

August round-up ??

August is holiday season for some, but a busy time of harvesting for our farmers. Agreena's farmer-facing teams have also been working hard to onboard new farmers into our AgreenaCarbon programme. Elsewhere at Agreena, the commercial teams have been gearing up for a busy September, ready to showcase our range of soil carbon solutions across the world. Want to say 'hi' in person? Scroll to the end for a list of the events we'll be attending.

Here's what else you need to know...

?? Agreena CEO Simon Haldrup has been named a 2024 Top Agri-Food Pioneer by the prestigious World Food Prize Foundation . Simon is one of 38 exceptional individuals joining the inaugural TAP List, honouring his and Agreena’s work leading the charge in transforming global food and agriculture systems.

?? Excitement is mounting for the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit in London. Agreena's Luke Quinn and Tom Blower will be hosting a breakout session on the latest in soil carbon measurement, while on the main stage, CEO Simon Haldrup will give a talk on farmer-centric tech.

?? In partnership with Agreena, the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) has highlighted how nature-based carbon credits can advance environmental targets while delivering numerous social and environmental co-benefits. The built environment sector has a critical role to play, by helping to channel climate capital towards these impactful projects.

?? New World Resources Institute research has predicted a ‘race to the top’ amongst banks with net zero commitments. Financial institutions can do more to enable a global shift toward sustainable business practices, including regenerative agriculture. The findings identify a real willingness to keep improving among banks and their sustainability teams, with competition likely to emerge as some banks take the lead in this area.

??? Have you ever wondered how we measure fields without being there? In order to scale regenerative agriculture globally, digital measurement, reporting and verification (dMRV) is crucial to delivering the integrity, credibility, trust and durability of climate contributions. This post explains the science behind remote sensing, and how, alongside ground-truth data, it's a cornerstone of our cutting-edge in-house dMRV capabilities.

???? Plans are well underway for one of the most important weeks of the year. Climate Week NYC will see leaders from around the world unite to drive climate action, hasten progress, and champion change. Agreena will be hosting, sponsoring and speaking at five events, including Monday's CarbonSmart Summit 2024.
