Well, it's August already... just four more months to a new year. Time surely flies by! They say August is the 'Sunday of Summer' and truly so, this month started on a good note for the supply chain industry globally. From new beginnings to reaching goals, we've got many reasons to celebrate - small and big. Spread across the many facets of the supply chain industry, they truly give hope that we'll get through it. Turkish Cargo has been ranked fourth among the top 20 air cargo companies in the world, according to the June issued by the World Air Cargo Data (WACD). The Carrier demonstrated its determination for hitting the top while ranking 4th on the WACD list. Turkish cargo has risen to first place in the Eastern European market and surpassed top brands in America, Europe, and the Far East, managing to carry one cargo out of five in the world as well. In the UAE market, the global carrier ranked second with a growth of 18 percent based on sale-tonnage on a year-on-year basis and ranked 3rd in India.
In what can be said a miraculous escape and straight out of a Disney movie, a dog survived being trapped in a shipping container for 40 days. Mili the Little Spaniard, as she is now fondly called in Panama City, somehow got trapped in an empty shipping container destined to travel from Spain to Panama City crossing the Atlantic from Andalucia. She is approximately a year old, caramel coloured fluffed up dog who is now, after months of rehabilitation and training, living the time of her life at the MIDA Agricultural Development Ministry.?
A new report from?Brand Finance?reveals that UPS?has held the top spot as the most valuable logistics brand in the world with a brand value of US$38.5 billion. Despite disruptions to the global supply chain, the brand value of UPS jumped by a quarter over the year as demand for its services increased. Further, UPS has benefited from improved goodwill in many nations as it actively contributed to improving access to COVID-19 vaccination supplies for 110 countries. The brand used their logistics supply chain network to deliver shipments and medical equipment as needed throughout the world.

This marks the first agreement for an Airbus FHS contract for an A350-fleet in the Middle East.?

India’s leading integrated supply chain and logistics solutions provider, Transport Corporation of India (TCI) Ltd., today announced its financial results for the first quarter ended 30th June. While TCI’s Y-o-Y standalone revenue growth touched 32.3%, its net profit saw a rise of 58.4%. Commenting on the result,?Mr. Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director TCI?stated, the company continued to demonstrate steady performance due to its adherence to core business fundamentals. Impact of high fuel prices, general inflation and volatile demand in certain sectors were key challenges which the company manoeuvred to deliver value to its customers.
