August platform and community updates

August platform and community updates

Hi,

We are deep into August, with most companies on holiday and the heat in some places becoming unbearable. Stay cool and safe!

As you know, every month, I’ll be sending you updates on all things WebOps, including news about our platform, Drupal, WordPress, and general web technology. If there are specific topics you’d like me to cover, please feel free to reach out.

We are seeing significant growth in the EMEA region. If you’re a digital agency interested in partnering with Pantheon and exploring growth opportunities together, I’d love to chat with you.

This Month's Updates

Drupal Association elections: I (Alex Moreno) am joining the race for the Board of Directors in the Drupal Association. I am asking for your vote to make Drupal and the Drupal Association more self-sufficient, independent and future-proofed. Read my whole program here.

WordCamp Turin 2024: Last month, I attended WordCamp Turin 2024. Despite nearly two decades of experience in Drupal, this was my first WordPress event. It was a fantastic experience, and I learned a lot. You can read my summary and takeaways from the event in my LinkedIn post or directly on Pantheon.io in the article "A Drupalista Goes to WordCamp."

Drupal 11 is officially supported in Pantheon. See the announcement in Linkedin: https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/getpantheon_drupal-activity-7227041492480004097-PQAL?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios?

Bounty Program: A few months ago, I started the Bounty program. Although my tenure with the Drupal Association has ended, I remain deeply committed to the community, the Drupal Association, and all the work I was fortunate enough to start and be part of. Now I am announcing with the Drupal Association a new “rain of contribution bonuses”, as they put my friends in the Drop Times. You can read the original announcement in Drupal.org

From Code to Cloud with Alex Moreno: I have started a newsletter where I discuss topics around web development, innovation, and open source, and it will include blog posts as well as video updates. You can subscribe directly in Linkedin.
