Have you heard of “The Power of Magic Words”?

Our new course covers how words have the power to trigger psychological or emotional responses in people. Influence, persuasion, and encouragement can all be achieved by using the right words, which then dramatically increase the impact of your conversations with people in your life, including your team, management, and your clients.

Knowing the right words to use and when to use them can contribute to many aspects of our ability to succeed in work. These “magic” words are filtered by those who hear them and can be interpreted differently, so understanding the situation and using these words effectively is important. When you focus on expanding your vocabulary to encapsulate emotions, you create a foundation on which to build lasting relationships and self-expression; we must not ignore the opportunity to increase our understanding of these words.

Future Options for Learning

Last month, Neoskill began implementing our new Hybrid Training method, where we deliver first-class training to teams and individuals attending online, and in the office simultaneously.

One of our senior trainers, Gerhard Toolsee, delivered a virtual training session to a team in San Jose, California. The team was both in their office, using a telepresence device, and at home, while Gerhard delivered from his home office in the UK. Later in the month, he travelled to Chicago to deliver training simultaneously face-to-face to a team in the office and teams working from home. This has been in the planning for Neoskill for some time, and we are excited to build it from here.

As hybrid-working is becoming more and more important post-pandemic, adapting to a new training method has been something we have worked very hard toward. We are excited to be travelling again, providing the best possible training to some of the largest organisations in the world and giving future options for learning to all.

Neoskill helps corporate organisations to develop secret skills by helping to implement a proper learning and development program, proving training to upper and lower level team members.

Secret Skills

We recently posted about The Association for Project Management finding 30% of UK workers had high-demand secret skills their employers did not know about, which you can find here.

In the UK, 19 million workers handed in their notice between March and July 2021. The response of many organisations to this was an intention to raise wages and increase benefits to retain their talent. However, many found this was not the case and 19% (out of more than 1,000 employees who have moved jobs in the last months) stated they were not offered benefits such as upskilling and learning opportunities or chances for leadership or progression.

Without these benefits offered, many chose to keep their skills hidden and took the opportunity to move jobs – some taking a significant pay cut – to find these opportunities elsewhere, despite 38% of them saying they would prefer to excel further within their current company.

Unfortunately, in these months following the ‘Great Resignation’ if your organisation is not investing in upskilling and employee development, you will find a severe lack of talent heading your way. By offering a learning and development programme, building a culture of belonging and trust, giving value to our teams, and creating an engaging environment, organisations stand a better chance of retaining their talent and becoming the top choice of employers for those wanting to move. Therefore, those ‘secret skills’ we spoke about will be a thing of the past, ensuring your teams will flourish.
