AUGUST AUCTION PERSONAL PREVIEW: Ann Sharp Hahn, Senior Director of Research and Content

I’m attracted to pieces by Lalique because they're always so well done and beautiful. There’s a Lalique vase in our next auction (August 21) called “Three Jaguars” that's doubly appealing because it also reminds me of a dream car I had, the 1986 Jaguar XJ6 in “Butter Yellow”. That car was sheer perfection. 1986 was the year after Ford bought Jaguar, and all the finicky electrical issues were fixed, but thankfully Ford didn’t mess with the body yet. I really loved driving that car. I guess in a way that car was like Lalique crystal, perfectly executed and gorgeous. Click here to view August Auction catalog
