August update #1: Showcasing our work to sustainability leaders
We kicked off the month with a visit from Norsk Hydro's UK sustainability team. They were given a behind-the-scenes tour of our operations, which provided them with a valuable glimpse into our pioneering processes - in action.
The tour was followed by an extremely productive meeting that enabled us all to get round a table and discuss the current aluminium recycling landscape, challenges, opportunities and all.

August update #3: Which aluminium products are most commonly recycled?
领英推荐
Did you know that 30 million tonnes of aluminium is recycled globally every year?
And did you know that 160,000+ tonnes of aluminium packaging alone is recycled in the UK every year?
We recycle in the region of 25,000 tonnes of aluminium at our site every single year. Over the last five years, we’ve recycled 115,000 tonnes of aluminium, with certain types of aluminium being recycled more than others.
The scale and type of aluminium products that are recycled really does vary, especially from sector-to-sector. And, of course, they vary according to residential and commercial use too.
Curious to know which aluminium products are recycled the most and how this translates from sector-to-sector??
August update #4: Supporting our employees’ mental health
As part of our commitment to supporting our employees’ mental health and wellbeing, our Transport Manager, Trevor, has been awarded a NUCO Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health.
Trevor, who has been with us for over five years, spent a day off-site studying the qualification, which is accredited by Mental Health & Life and covers all aspects of mental health.
He says:
“The training has provided me with the knowledge and skills to identify a range of mental health conditions.
"I also learnt about the different types of support and therapy that’s provided by professional healthcare providers. It's also given me a better understanding of how to support colleagues, who may be in need of some mental health-related help and advice.”
