Publication highlight from Next Generation Sequencing Platform
The NGS facility at C-CAMP - Bangalore Life Science Cluster (C-CAMP, inStem, NCBS, TIGS) has supported a new study by researchers from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) , Homi Bhabha National Institute and K. J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce that offers new insights into cancer biology therapeutics.
The team studied tunnelling nanotubes (TNTs) in cancer cells, which facilitate intercellular communication between cancer cells, helping cancer cells grow, spread, and even resist therapy. Studies revealed that the proteins in a special macrophage-conditioned medium were able to induce TNT formation which led to increased resistance to the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin. Know More
