What's New?

Everyone may still be talking about the economy and recession, but now that we are past the She”cession,” women are coming back to the workforce in droves post-Covid pandemic.

In June, 77.8% of women ages 25 to 54 were working or looking for jobs, up from 77.6% in May and the highest in U.S. history, the Labor Department’s recent jobs report showed.

According to the Gender Diversity Index Q1 2023 findings done by Women on Boards 50/50, as of March 31, women hold 28.9% of the board seats, a 0.5% increase from Q4 2022 and a 1.6% increase from the previous year. Women of color hold 7.3% of board seats, a 0.5% increase from the year prior. As of June, about 10% of Fortune 500 companies are run by women CEOs.?

While we may be progressing, the percentage of women joining boards annually needs to surpass 50% to reach gender parity by 2030.?

So, what can we do? livingHR is here to share ways you can help continue that progression. One of those ways is through developing women leaders by fostering a flexible work environment to help retain all women and supporting their career advancement through education and mentorship programs. Actively support organizations such as 50/50 Women on Boards and Fe league, whose programming is specifically built to make paths that will accelerate women.?
