Ukrainian Canadian Congress
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is the voice of Canada’s Ukrainian community.
Dear Friends of the UCC,?
It’s hard to believe that summer is already halfway over! With summer camps and programs underway, there are many great community events and fundraisers on the horizon which need our support.?
As Russia continues its genocidal war against Ukraine, our community is hard at work in large and small ways to help the people of Ukraine. We look ahead to marking another poignant Ukrainian Independence Day together with friends and family at events across Canada. The UCC is working to have the Ukrainian flag raised in as many communities as possible across Canada.

Meet two sustainers of the UCC: Myron Dzulynsky and Emil Yereniuk??
Dear Friends,??
The summer months for my family is a time of gardening - the cycle of seeds to a bountiful harvest. Just recently we made щавлевий борщ with щавель from our garden (sorrel). I have heard stories of families bringing plant roots in their pockets when they left Ukraine during WWII. Today, my new friends that have arrived in Canada due to the aggressive war in Ukraine, tell me of the libraries and gardens they have left behind, in addition to friends and family – their homeland.??
I was born in Canada and have only visited Ukraine, but my heart is blue and yellow – a proud Ukrainian Canadian. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress has been preserving our Ukrainian hearts in Canada and protecting our homeland for over 80 years. The UCC is a not-for-profit and cannot function without donations from you and me. We all give from our hearts as much as we can afford.??
There is a special group of UCC donors that are sustainers of the UCC; these individuals support the UCC monthly. Why do they choose to give every month, rather than once or twice a year???
Mr. Myron Dzulynsky is a monthly donor, and he said, “Giving monthly is good from two perspectives. From my perspective, the monthly giving is easier as I won’t forget to give, and it spreads the cash flow hit across 12 months. From the organization’s perspective, it allows for planning of cash receipts, on the assumption that it is unlikely that monthly giving would be discontinued suddenly, whereas a one-time amount may or may not be renewed.”??
Mr. Emil Yereniuk is also a monthly donor, and he said, “Orasia and I wanted to assist UCC National. We both knew that the UCC was doing excellent work in the community and in Ukraine. We became monthly donors because it is easier to budget – funds are withdrawn monthly and once a year we receive an income tax receipt. Using this donation method, Orasia and I became members of the President’s Club.”??
I would like to thank Myron and Emil for sharing their donation experiences.?Monthly giving?offers a steady and predictable source of funding and right now?BCU Wealth Management?will match your monthly giving donation for up to $10,000 for one year. In addition to being affordable and easy to manage, your impact is doubled! As a donor to the UCC, you are planting seeds. With your donation doubled, this is a great opportunity to plant roots and become a UCC sustainer.??
Glory to Ukraine! Слава Укра?н?!??
With gratitude,??
