A central effort will be to develop and steer the work of the caucus as we engage and take action with the federal government and others, to update the?Canadian 2020 Biodiversity Goals and Targets, based on the outcomes of the GBF.?The caucus steering committee is also considering the best way forward for the upcoming part 2 of the 15th?Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity?(CBD)?that will be held in Montreal between December 7 and 19,?2022. The host is still the country of China. COP 15 will be preceded by the 5th?Open Ended Working Group (OEWG) on the GBF from December 3 – 5, 2022

We are looking to host an all caucus meeting on August 11, 2022, at 12 pm central.?Not more than two hours.?The goal is to discuss the work that the Biodiversity Caucus can do leading up to and post COP-15 and the opportunity for meaningful NGO consultation.
