Audit Time...

Audit Time...

Ok. This is not a scary time to read an article about audits (from your compliance people or taxing authorities or anything like that).

So. Take a breath.

OK... We good?

Today, the one way to think about how to do less in order to become even more productive is to pause for a moment and look where and how you are spending your time.

--> Let's go there together, shall we?

The Problem:?Where Does My Time Go?

This week, imagine you and I are at a bookstore, in line, waiting to check out, and you notice those empty "journal" books these places seem to sell.

Which one do you get? Or... do you pass it up (like most people, including me [heh... just seeing if you are reading this].

ME: "Hey, how are you?"

YOU: "I have no idea where my time goes these days."

Time.

Yeah, we all have 24 hours in a day.

And yes, it's all spent in very different ways.

When things seems a bit AHHHHHHHHHHHH for me, one of the things I reflect on is to answer this question:

"HOW am I spending my time these days."

The Actionable Tip: Audit Your Time

Oh.

There are so many tools.

Don't go down that rabbit hole, dear reader.

Do this today.

Take a piece of paper.

Keep it by the side of your desk.

Take a pen (or pencil).

As you do your stuff today, write down and observe how you are spending your time.

Nothing else required. Today. I may get to it in a future article here, but awareness is a good thing.

AND....

In the comments below, please share?ONE?actionable tip about how you "Audit Time" so that you can to do less and become more productive.

Time is ticking.

I can't wait to see what you recommend for me -- and others reading this -- can do to audit time.

Thank you.

This is a telling exercise, and my actionable tip is an extension of yours, Michael Vizdos - I do this regularly (first business day of every month to be specific), I keep it simple as noted (track on piece of paper), & make incremental changes to improve based on the results.
