Welcome back to our ninth edition of?The Audiopreneur Newsletter,?Happy April 1st! I am always so excited by the start of a new month. New goals, new targets, new challenges to put in place. How are you hoping to improve your performance this April?

This week's edition of the newsletter see's more podcasting tips and tricks, the latest industry news, as well as showcasing another wonderful podcast for you to enjoy.

Industry News:?Edison Research findings from The Infinite Dial 2022

I have found myself still dissecting last week's findings from?The Infinite Dial 2022 ,?released by Edison Research. In this edition of the newsletter, I wanted to specifically highlight their key findings in terms of?social media usage. Speaking up about yourself, your work, your ambitions, your successes, is all part of engaging content marketing and is why your online social presence is so important for your business.

Their results showed that?Facebook?continues to be the most used social media platform, having seen a rise from 61 to 63% in the last year.?Instagram?showed a similar trajectory with a 3% increase from 43 to 46%. What is worth bringing to your attention is?TikTok. This saw the largest increase across all 7 social media platforms used within the study, going from 23% usage in 2021 to 36% in 2022. That's a rise of 13% in 12 months!

Let's now look at these results in regards to the age range using the different platforms

35 years + :?Facebook is still the most used platform (76%), however?TikTok has seen an increase of 18% in a year (34%).

12- 24yrs:?Instagram takes the top spot (72%) with TikTok now being the 2nd most used platform within this age group, going from 44 to 61%.

Across?ALL?ages TikTok was the only platform to see an increase!

Prior to any podcast, you have got to know exactly who you want to speak to and why your content matters to them. Catherine launched the podcast back in January 2019, gaining a great reputation and has been joined by many of the industry's leading personnel and experts. I have loved guesting on the show myself and having Catherine join me on my own podcast too!

In this week's episode Catherine explores the 10 steps that you can take to overcome your money trauma. This episode is the fourth part in her Money and Financial Trauma series.

She discusses:

This week's episode is a very special one for me, as I celebrate the?250th episode?of Entrepreneurs Get Visible! Less than 10% of podcasts manage to reach this milestone so I wanted to make it a personal one. I started this podcast back in October 2019 and in celebration of my 250th episode, I decided to speak from the heart about what's happened for me as a result of launching this podcast. I discuss and share the many lessons that I've learned in the nearly five years that I've been in business.

  • Ignore what everyone else is doing around you. If you stay?focussed?on what is enough for you, then you will create results quicker
  • Realise that no entrepreneur out there has got it all figured out and at the top of their game all of the time. The sooner you realise everything you do in business should be a test, the sooner you are going to be able to adjust, pivot and?course correct
  • You need to have?consistency. Be bold and confident in what you are doing. Your strong podcast and strong personal brand will create so much wealth of connections, recommendations and collaborations for you
  • Anything is possible for you and your business when people know about you.?Be seen, be heard.?When people feel they can connect with you and your story that is when your business will flourish

Podcast Tip: Being a podcast guest

I am a strong believer that success relies on your connection with others in your field. Collaboration gives each of you an opportunity to get in front of a wider audience that you wouldn’t reach ordinarily. Podcast guesting is a great way to grow your network and spread your message internationally. When reaching out to a podcast host, there are a few simple guidelines:

  • Listen to the show first - preferably a couple of episodes - so that you understand its?style
  • Provide an image, brief bio and all of your social media handles upfront - it makes you a much more appealing guest
  • When writing your pitch make sure it is adapted to suit the podcast’s audience.What topics could you talk about that might be of relevance?
  • Keep the email short and to the point
