Industry News:?Recent American study shows more men to be creating podcasts than women

Sounds Profitable, in partnership with Edison Research, has put together the first?credible study ?of the?profile of podcast creators?in America. Their report looked at the characteristics and behaviours of the persons creating podcasts in America. They sampled 617 weekly podcast listeners, 18+, who currently produce or have ever produced a podcast.

Here are some of their key findings:

• Podcast creators were 69% male and?29% female
• Most podcast creators were aged between?25-34 years?(33%) with just 2% over 55 years
• 46% of podcast creators mostly worked from?home

So of those who identify as creators at every level, from host, to audio editing, to production, to guest booking, nearly 70% are men! We need, as an industry, to do everything that we can to encourage more female creators at every level and find ways to get women more involved in the creative piece.

One thing every entrepreneur would love, is to have their brand mentioned in places they have never imagined it could reach. This is what it feels like to be #1 at the top, to trend above all other podcasts out there.?So how can you get a No.1 Top-Charting Podcast?
