SHOW ME THE AUDIO BOOK: ADVENTURES OF A FIRST TIME BOOK NARRATOR

I have had a ball learning all about the book business over the last year. When @TouchwoodEditions, the publishers of SHOW ME THE HONEY: ADVENTURES OF AN ACCIDENTAL APIARIST asked me to record an audio version of my book I couldn’t have been happier. Combing my current passion - writing, with one of my first interests - radio announcing, was a dream assignment. It took four full days at Digital Sound Magic Recording Studios in Burnaby to complete voicing the 8-hour long book. Then I had to go back in for a day of edits and mistake-fixing. Audio books are soaring in popularity and I now have a newfound respect for the men and the women that lift the words off the pages and bring audio books to life. As with most businesses, once the product is made then distribution becomes the key. The audio version of the book is available on Amazon’s Audible and has been selling well. As I am very much still learning, I’d be interested in hearing back from my Linkedin contacts about experiences they may have had in the world of audio books.
