An Audience with Rusty Egan

Where is your Book Rusty Egan?

At an audience with Rusty Egan questions are asked after the presentation of songs from my past career. I replied I wrote a book of 350 pages. My lawyers read it and gave me back 50 pages and said if you write that call it Burn your Bridges because no one will talk to you every again. I'm getting my pension this year and no one has paid my rent in 35 years why would I care? You can't say that!!! Well I can and I will I don't need a book I can go on stage like Lenny Bruce No one cares and won't stop me saying my experiences in the music industry and I have stated many times libelous statements no one has sued because its true. I have made claims of my role in the creation of many amazing and wonderful times / clubs/ songs/ records/ bands/ record labels / publishers / events / artwork / videos / magazines / and a lot of wonderful people continue to write with me and create even if it only reaches a small community and they like Boy George Midge Ure Tony Hadley Peter Hook Glen Matlock Andy McKay Gary Barnacle Wolfgang Fluer are doing very well and don't need to do it and yet they do. I also say things that upset people because we all have a different memory and the facts are that I have always shared anything or everything unless there was only me in the room. My son has been my musical partner for 8 years and he will inherit what? Nothing!!!! Nothing from my 20's - 30s when all the legal documents and signatures and advice I paid for got me homeless and penniless after a decade in the music and nightclub industry. I was back in the dole que and I signed on again like it was punk in 1976 when I started looking for a band and found Clash in Camden a gig I didn't get but through Gary Barnacle I passed on the gig to Topper Headon who I believe just got wages.

  • When I shared this crap cash in cover claiming its Visage ft ? as there is no Steve Strange in this Visage in fact no members its just imitation to Midge Ure he re shared with a comment this was a total travesty https://youtu.be/DZfIOKEaYH0 to [ VISAGE ] the band we created together.
  • In 2020 this DIRE copy was SOLD to DIOR for £32 000 synch fee 100% going to John Pitcher who stole Visage from the drug addicted Steve Strange after Pitcher befriended me with claims he would get the bands royalties stolen by Steve Strange and the bands name Visage brand back but instead he used Strange and stole it. The publishers granted the use so what can I do?
  • The songs we created together inc Fade to Grey came from ideas we all had and this from the music demo idea toot city recorded at Genetic by Chris Payne and Billy Currie who had toured with Gary Numan while Billy who was recording with us as a member of Visage. We were all moonlighting over a year it took us to finish the album debut album at Martin Rushant's studios. Genetic was Martin record label with offices based above the Blitz Club who took the risk and let us in his half built studios. Fade to grey was the last song and TAR.Frequency 7 had been released https://youtu.be/-xX0nPLc_7g and all credits were
  • Performer?–?Barry Adamson,?Billy Currie,?Dave Formula,?John McGeoch,?Midge Ure,?Rusty Egan,?Steve Strange

Once the song was half done I suggested my french girlfriend speaks the words and we extended the beat to add epic electronic synth drums and whispers and an extended club version. I had met Ralf and Florian in a Dusseldorf nightclub and asked was The Model created for this nightclub? Yes said Ralf watching the daughters of the Industrialists dance. I had travelled to Luxembourg, Paris Belgium Düsseldorf and Berlin and with The Skids made Days in Europa doing TV shows in Munich I had wanted to create an album for the Visa-Age. The music of The Blitz Club would have new music from Japan Switzerland Belgium France Germany and Visage would be the soundtrack. Midge and Ultravox got it and Magazine both bands joined and we created something special. How was I to know after the first single credits Visage would be changed.

Visage were equal in writing and recording royalties and had in fact signed a deal sharing everything 1/6th in May 1980 and the album was delivered then when I saw the artwork cover and the credits I went crazy as we were omitted from the writing of 1 Visage song and i was reduced to 25% of a demo made by only Midge and me unknown to him. Out of 30 songs recorded by Visage I agreed we share equally everything but the managers of Ultravox members Midge and Billy were the priority of the mgnt company.

Midge may have written the lyrics on Fade to Grey but he did not write 100% of any Visage songs he wrote or rewrote words and or partly presented songs and finished them off. The words and vocals of Mind of a Toy and Tar were already written by Steve Strange Blocks on Blocks and Visag-Age by me in Berlin in 1978. Admittedly they needed work but the ideas are exactly as we did with Glorious. The songs I often joke were presented to Midge who exclaimed " They are good but they are not right" and he then does his magic. That's how bands work like U2 COLDPLAY and ULTRAVOX who shared equally.

FADE TO GREY - Visage (Violet Chachki and Lecomte De Brégeot Remix). This crap it is not VISAGE and Ure Currie and Payne should have had a choice in the matter of WHAT VERSION was used by 迪奥 who obviously did not want to pay UNIVERSAL MUSIC-MGB NA LLC for the Real Visage and thought they had a bargain YES John Pitcher you sell bargains and copies on the death of Steve Strange who was in the grip of addiction and stealing his own bandmates royalties and you know that the publishes will give the ok.

My autobiography of 350 pages is now called "Burn your Bridges" or its 50 pages because you can't say that !!!!!! Midge and Billy and Chris Payne are advised and may not be aware that leaches are copying there work with Visage and selling the cheap copies and they could after this make an agreed change the the terms of the synch as on the rest of the songs I am a writer and I will be investigating MY RIGHTS and I also have made an amazing cover with Chris Payne for Blitzed the documentary and Visage and synth-pop fans love it. Music like Fade to Grey are timeless classics but every picture tells as story and I am not going to stop telling mine.
