Over the course of my decades-long experience in recruitment, particularly in lateral hiring, I've encountered candidates who are exceptionally selective about the positions and companies they consider, even when offered highly competitive salary packages.
Recently, I had the opportunity to work with an MNC in the manufacturing sector that was looking for a Customer Support Expert with a technical background. The role offered an impressive salary of ?35 LPA. Despite exhaustive efforts over the course of a month—leveraging referrals, social media ads, LinkedIn, and other platforms—we struggled to convince candidates to join.
After a thorough review and analysis, we discovered that the candidates were not familiar with the company. This experience underscored a vital insight: regardless of the salary and benefits offered, experienced candidates today are increasingly concerned with the company’s reputation and branding.
?? My advice as an experienced recruitment manager:
Even companies with strong reputations must now prioritize building a robust digital presence and global branding. Candidates today expect to see an active digital footprint that showcases company culture, employee reviews, and corporate videos. A well-optimized LinkedIn page with regular updates is no longer optional—it’s essential.
To all companies out there: Start building your digital assets now. This will not only attract top talent across all levels but also make the onboarding process smoother for HR recruiters.
Don't delay—begin enhancing your digital presence today. If you need any support, don't hesitate to seek expert consulting like me??????
