Jordan-McQueen spent an insightful morning in the Lake District this week where they attended an event that brought together a local community of business leaders to discuss how to attract talent to family organisations in the region – an area that we are passionate about given our links to Sue Howorth and The Family Business Network. 

Our Founder & Managing Director – Victoria McQueen commented on the day: “Having had first-hand experience of the intricacies of family businesses myself - my father was an entrepreneur in the automotive industry and my husband and his family own a large national dairy business, I understand how challenging it is to attract and often more importantly, retain, the right talent. 

In a candidate led market, it is crucial that family businesses invest in their brand perception in order to appeal to the best talent.  Clear brand proposition, clarity over career development, defined lines of accountability, empowerment and succession plans for the next-generation of leaders are crucial in terms of their ability to grow and be more successful in the long term.” Jordan-McQueen and The Family Business Network support family businesses in the North West to address such challenges.
