Attract Customers To Your Business The Easy Way

Attract Customers To Your Business The Easy Way

What You Can Learn From Kevin The Carrot

Christmas adverts are all over the television. But you don’t have to go to the expense of a TV advert to attract people to your business.

We all have our favourite, be it Marks & Spencer, John Lewis or Notonthehighstreet. They have been well researched and target their specific audience. Think of the Aldi advert, which is lively and fun and portrays a traditional family Christmas. Kevin the Carrot is my personal favourite!

What are you doing to attract your ideal customer?

Hi, I’m Anna Goodwin – Author of five books, Director, Mentor and Trainer for Anna Goodwin Accountancy.

Basically, I take the stress out of finances – both business and personal. From running my own business and helping others to run theirs, I know it’s important to attract customers to you and your business.

Everything looks so pretty, decorated with Christmas lights. The town centre shops are enticing people in with their beautiful shop windows, making the most of their shortened timeframe to attract customers into their business. There is no reason why you can’t do the same, whether or not you have a physical shop window. Your equivalent may be your website, your social media accounts, or any publicity material you produce.

How To Make Your Business More Attractive To Customers

How does your business look to the public and the customers you want to attract?

  • What is your ‘shop window’?
  • How can you make it more appealing?
  • Is it attracting the audience you want?

Be obvious in what you are selling. Some of the supermarket adverts are aiming for a moral message, which takes the clarity away from what they’re actually selling. However, I accept that it does give prospective customers a good idea of their values as a business. Also, in this age of adverts going viral, they can afford that luxury.

You need to be more direct in telling people what you offer. Think about your business – what are you providing and to who? How do they find out about you and your business?

We tend to be out and about more over Christmas, don’t we? Seeing different people and getting out and about. This year is probably going to be a different story. However, you are likely to have some downtime away from your office (even if it is the spare bedroom!) Could you use this time to think about how you attract customers to your business and plan for the New Year?

Plan Of Action

1) Is my ‘shop window’ attractive?

Be honest with yourself and, if necessary, brainstorm with an independent person. Remember, it has to attract your ideal customer, not just you!

2) Possible Solutions to create an attractive ‘shop window’

Write down any ideas that come to you, no matter how crazy they may sound. Sometimes a mad idea leads you to something much more viable! What do you want the outcome to be?

3) What do I want to achieve?

Give yourself time to think about where you are now and where you want to be. Is your shop window, as it stands now, going to be good enough for this transition?

4) Who can help me?

Do you have someone who could help you if this is an area where you struggle? Who understands your customers and has good ideas for different ways of doing things?

Think of this time as not only a holiday but also a regrouping session. Where are you now and where do you want to be? Do your website and social media line up with where you’re going? Do they attract your ideal customer? Take time out and let your mind wander. You never know where it may take you!

The next blog is all about enjoying the Christmas break but also being grateful.
