Attitude is as important as ability

Attitude is as important as ability

Imagine a person having all the leadership skills available on earth, but having an attitude of blaming and disapproving of every other person. Would you be willing to follow this person? Imagine a person which comes from an attitude of respect and solution focus, but having no idea about leadership. Would you follow this person? Which question did you said “Yes” to? If it was the first one, you see leadership skills as more important than attitude. If you said yes to the second one, you see attitude as more important. Yes, I know that’s a simplified approach.

However, sometimes even a good, positive attitude is not enough. Sometimes you need skills too. But still the question is, which do you value more. I should say both are equally important . And they complement each other. Without skill, attitude is ineffective and without attitude, skill is useless. But even if I have to choose between them, I will go for attitude. It's because with right attitude, you can make others help you out in case you are missing the necessary skill. The best example for this case is the famous tale of race of Rabbit and Turtle. Rabbit had the skill and Turtle had the attitude. The rest is history.

Attitude is very important, as is skill. The good news is that typically, we can find both. If I could only have one, however, I’d prefer someone with a non-blaming attitude who lacked skills and was able and open to learning. Drive and motivation, which usually comes with a good attitude, is also important and not always available with someone who has the skills. Yes sometimes yes. Sometimes no. If youre not skilled, no matter what your attitude, it wont work. If you are having a good attitude about buikding a house, but there is no skill, then no dice. If you are qorking at a department store, have a good attitde but no skill in selling, you can probably sell a lot with that attitude. You cant wing it to perform surgery.

Skills are generally taught and learned after some effort and interest. Attitude, on the other hand, is a well-entrenched mindset in us that is carried forward from early childhood. Positivity in the forefront, attitude helps one make the best use of learned skills. You can think out-of-box and apply deep thinking, combining with expertise to yield extraordinary stuff. Learn to be happy alone. If you master this skill, trust me, nobody can take away your happiness from you. Be your own best friend, enjoy your own company, and be happy. If you master this skill, eventually you will start appreciating people in your life!

Let's put it this way I'm 63 and your skill level is basically depended upon your attitude. I'm still very functional working in a full time job at my age as a matter of fact this past week my communication and writing skills helped our company to get a big project. Today after long time I travelled in public transport but. I was sitting on back seat of the bus. My phone was 10% charged so I plugged in my phone for charging in power bank. Power bank was in my hands. A person came and sat beside me. He looked at my power bank for few seconds. Then he started using his mobile. A thought came in mind after noticing him.

Then he took out a page from his bag and he has written some phone numbers on it. I guessed he was agent of something and had to make some calls. I noticed that his phone was only 12% charged. My thought was right. (Inner me : His phone is down and he want to charge it that's why he looked at power bank like that.) But he couldn't ask because my phone was on charge. So I immediately plugged out my phone and kept phone in pocket. (Inner me : now he would ask for powerbank.) Next minute, He : Bro, can I put my phone on charge for sometime? Me : Yeah sure. No problem. Mission successful. My observation was right. Cheers!
