Attitude of Gratitude

It may go without saying, but this has not been the year in which any of us had expected or hoped- it’s been challenging, both professionally and personally.  Our resilience as humans has been tested at levels that I have never witnessed, and I am so very grateful for everything and everyone in my life.  And the wisdom I have collected in listening and learning from my peers has been gratifying, inspiring and humbling.  

I cannot express how proud I am to be actively involved and leading the Legal Marketing Association over these past eight months.  I have gained an enormous amount of respect and admiration for my colleagues on the International (LMA Int'l Board, Annual Conference Advisory Committee, SIG's, Committees, Task Forces, LMA Staff, and so many others!), Regional and Local levels who are giving up so much of their personal time and attention to making this organization a place for so many to want to be involved.  Thank you. These are not just words. Your dedication to this organization is above and beyond what anyone could ask of a group of volunteers.

Over these last few weeks in watching our country further divide and let negativity and doubt overshadow our collective search for the betterment of our existence, I want to acknowledge where we are and take a moment to be grateful for all that we do have in our lives.  For me, it’s my family and friends and our health and safety.  It’s the professional friendships that I’ve gained through being part of this organization that has given me so much.  It’s the ability to give back to an industry that I love.  It’s the faith I have in my colleagues to help make the right, not always popular, decisions.  It’s the willingness of all of you to be part of something bigger than yourselves, to be selfless with your intentions and help us elevate as an industry.

I have learned so much from all of you and I am grateful to you for helping me to be a better mother, wife, daughter, friend, colleague, mentor, mentee, business owner, coach, leader, human.  I am looking forward to what these next few months have in store- if it’s anything like the past few months of 2020, it’s certainly going to be exciting! #LMAmkt #legalmarketing #gratitude
