FOR THE ATTENTION OF MALACHY BROWNE - NEW YORK TIMES
Hello Malachy, I just watched a very interesting documentary about Jimmy Breslin and Peter Hamill. I congratulate you for keeping their campaigning Spirit alive and well in the New York Times. Sadly, the Journalistic spirit championed and inherited by your good-self and your paper, is not reflected in Ireland - or by the Irish press. The great and the good in Ireland are more concerned with 'Keeping Quiet', to climb the greasy pole.
Malachy, no doubt you're aware that RTE, the Irish National Broadcaster has adopted the Mantra - 'the truth matters'. How can they justify this when they cover up scandal after scandal. Are they currying favour with SIPTU - which, as ITGWU was once the most famous Trade Union in the world? That is, before it joined forces with Belfast employers to sack its own members. It now is a mere shadow of the 'greatness' in once possessed. RTE and its so-called 'freedom of speech loving journalists, plus the Irish legal profession are covering up this atrocity and perpetuating a gigantic bluff on Democratic People the world over
See my recent article on linkedin, which contains two chapters from my book, 'The Judas Goat' which elaborates in detail all I maintain. My phone number is 085-2424918 in case some of these fine upstanding gentlemen of the Law and and legal profession wish to contact me - and deny all I maintain.
However, the Sunday Independent broke ranks, and in an article dated 22nd November, 2020 - by Shane Ross, had three Buddha like figures depicted, covering their ears, eyes and mouth. Also shown are nine photographs of public figures, whom Ross [rightly] states are silent on judicial independence and appointments. A more public flogging of the great and the could not have been imagined - and to my knowledge has never happened in Ireland before. If Ross is not absolutely correct about everything he says, then both he and The Sunday Independent will be bankrupted with lible settlements. Sadly, all other Newspapers, remained silent - particularly The Irish Times. I have told their lead writer Fintan O'Toole, many times about the 'Non-Action' of Peter Kelly, the recently retired president of the high court.
In his article Ross castigates, among others, Michael McDowell, Charlie Flanagan and Ivana Bacik - and rubbishes their legal reputations. How can these three champions of Juris Prudence ever hold up their heads again - if they don’t sue him, or at least reply in kind? Ross declares, that in the Judicial Arena they have taken an “Oath of Omerta”. He also claims that all the usual Dail mouthpieces have gone quiet on judicial appointments and “at least three judges are sucking up humiliation”. To date, the leading Lawyers and others that Ross wrote the Truth about have remained 'Utterly Silent'.
Malachy, I hope these titbits on information will lead to the New York Times carrying out an investigation - if not - the fact can be seen and read, in my many articles on Linkedin.
