In attention, there is no knowledge
What does this even mean?
Knowledge is based on all the information, data, and #memory that we carry in our heads. It’s accumulated over time and basically, it’s our ability to retrieve that information as needed. We use it to carry on with our day-to-day life.
#Attention is a bit more complex than what we have been #conditioned to understand about it. Attention is mostly mistaken to be #focus. Our minds have been trained to concentrate our #energy on the subject when we want to pay attention. And this is why we are unable to benefit from it. Directing our energies to it defeats the purpose of it. Attention is simply described as "choiceless- awareness". It means to be aware of everything all the time and yet not #entangled in any of it. It’s like sitting next to the highway and watching traffic go by. One sees everything that’s going on but doesn’t follow any of it. The reason we get entangled and as a result put our energy into it is because we apply our #memory to whatever is happening. #Thought takes over and brings the #past into that #moment. Which in reality means we go into the past. And are no longer in that moment. Attention means to be engaged and aware in everything to such an extent that the #self is spread so thin and so far and beyond that its existence is #dissolved. In attention, there is no #identity. It is total #responsibility and no #self.
So, when there is #attention, #knowledge is the baggage that pulls one back. Put it aside and only then we can be in the #moment. In the #Now.?
