?? Attention Founders ?? - DON'T DO THIS!
Elliot Grossbard ???
I take a Growth?listic approach to building sustainable growth. I work with startups - scaling founder-led sales and SMBs ? A growth mindset isn't just for individuals; it's the driving force behind successful companies.
It's practically an addiction how startups add new features. The list of benefits are supportive of this addiction. Increased loyalty, improved user experience, adding value, and there's the added bonus of attracting more customers. BUT....
At its core, addiction is a strong reliance on a substance, activity, or behavior even when it causes harm. It usually includes both mental and physical aspects, as our internal reward system is disrupted, prompting us to keep engaging in the addictive behavior that feels good. Addiction can impact how someone makes choices, controls impulses, and manages their actions, often leading to harm to their health, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Founders (former and born-again founder here ?) are entrepreneurs most of the time, and we love the creation stage of the idea. It's intoxicating, it's energizing, it's an IV of adrenaline of creating something that is or will be useful. What happens when the idea becomes a company, the company produces the product(s), and the products helps others? Now What?
How do founders and startups tap into that "entrepreneurial high" again?
Features. It's like a Gremlins. (Google It) There are two types of features. There are small and furry creatures (features) called ???????????? (Cantonese: 魔怪, 'devil'), and destructive monsters (features) called "gremlins".
When companies release features before they are ready, i.e. tested, beta'd, and debugged, it often is destructive to the company and their customers. But it's an addiction that more and more founders continue to fall into.

Move on from startups to Billion Dollar companies like......like LI. There should not be the same Founder Addictions found in Stallions ?? like LI and MSFT.
Why add a new feature Picture in Picture mode that conceptually if works properly, would provide a better user experience to your customer but fall flat?
What is the benefit of playing a video P-in-P mode not be able to continues looking through your feed as the video plays? Therefore what use is a P-in-P if the video only plays when I stay on the original post?
Founders - Don't ever stop putting yourself in the shoes of your customer as priority, no matter how large you become or profitable.
