Attention DFW Women: WELD could be coming to our town!
Since relocating to Dallas a few years back, I have craved a women’s leadership development organization. A group of professional women I could turn to for trusted guidance, networking and professional development. I’ve reached a point in my life where I value, more than ever, sound professional advice and insights from people who genuinely understand my journey. Here’s our chance to make this happen in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. WELD (Women for Economic and Leadership Development) is interested in establishing a chapter here!
WELD is a unique, not-for-profit, organization that focuses on leadership development of women. It provides a spectrum of programming, builds awareness of the business case for women’s leadership and helps women expand their business and community connections. It provides board training and sessions on board placement.
I have had a discussion with the President & CEO of the organization, Barb Smoot, and believe that our region does not have a similar organization as WELD and could definitely benefit from having a WELD chapter of our own.
To give our community the opportunity to “test drive” the organization, WELD is willing to launch a program, called a cultivation event, in Dallas.

7 年WELD would be thrilled to launch a chapter in DFW and support the outstanding women leaders in the region. DFW has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to strong and successful women leaders and women business owners. It would be an honor to support these women to help them get to their "net" - whether it be to get on a corporate board, get their first promotion, or grow their business.
