Matters needing attention in the application of PE pipe
1. The pressure test in summer should not be carried out at noon or afternoon
Reason: Due to the material properties of the PE water supply pipe, it is easy to absorb the heat in the air, so that the water temperature in the pipe rises, and the maximum temperature reaches about 50°C. Therefore, when the pressure is tested at high temperature, the corresponding reduction coefficient should be selected according to the actual water temperature to calculate the test pressure of the pipe.
Solution: After the pipeline is installed in summer, the water pressure test is carried out when the relative temperature is high after noon. Because the pipe is exposed to the sun and absorbs heat, the temperature of the pressure test water in the pipe rises rapidly, and then press the usual test pressure, resulting in The toughness of the pipe is broken; and the pressure test is carried out in the morning when the temperature is relatively low, and the pipe runs normally.
2. PE pipes cannot be used for hot water, and the normal water temperature cannot exceed 40°C
3. The water supply pipeline should not be backfilled or concealed without a pressure test.
Reason: It is used to detect the strength and air tightness of the pipeline to prevent the pipeline from leaking during use, resulting in greater losses.
Solution: After the installation of the water supply pipeline, the pressure test should be carried out in accordance with the relevant technical regulations, and then backfilling and concealed application should be carried out under the condition that no water leakage occurs in the pipeline.
4. the water supply pipeline with a large drop cannot have a ventilation device
Reason: When the water supply pipeline has a large drop or a long distance, water hammer or vacuum negative pressure will be formed, causing the pipeline to collapse or be damaged.
Solution: Install the exhaust valve.
The function of the exhaust valve:
A. Exhaust to eliminate water hammer;
B. Air supply to eliminate negative pressure.
5. The surface of the heating plate and the die head must be cleaned before the PE pipe is welded.
Reason: Due to the presence of impurities on the heating plate, die head and the welding surface of the pipe, welding defects will be formed, resulting in water leakage in the pipeline.
Solution: The heating plate, die surface and pipe welding surface must be cleaned before welding.
