Attending Engage311 & AAPI Events

Attending Engage311 & AAPI Events

Our Catalyst team has been on the go this spring! In April, we had the pleasure of hosting our?team in-office in Chicago for our 2023 Leadership Summit. Since then, we’ve been?attending events such as the Engage311 Conference and the 2023 Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month event, hosted by the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement. Let’s recap what has defined these events for Catalyst!??

Engage311

The Engage311 Conference as part of CS Week’s larger annual conference gathers 311 departments from across the country and even those in Canada. This year the event was hosted in Charlotte, NC, May 3-5th. The conference events feature the work and progress that is being executed in the realm of 311, nonemergency government services. This year’s speaker sessions included discussions on topics such as digital-first strategy, evolving constituent expectations, and organizations’ obstacles, as well as successes. We feel events such as Engage311 are of utmost importance for the growth and innovation within the industry, and we aim to position ourselves as a resource and player in the progress. ?

Whether attendees were representing well-established 311 departments or were exploring the ecosystem as they are just getting started, all brought valuable conversation to our booth. At Catalyst, we recognize our solutions’ benefits to organizations, just as much as we identify benefit to their constituencies. We align with 311 organizations on their visions for the future. It is through their lens that we gain perspective on roadblocks and obstacles, as well as the necessities of their near-future solutions.?

We want to thank the attendees, the organizers, as well as the other sponsors who make this event a success year after year. We are eager to continue the conversations and further delve into how we can be an aid in improving 311 departments of all shapes and sizes! ?

The City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement & Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Members of the Catalyst team had the pleasure of attending the 2023 Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month event, hosted by the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement (MOCE), on Tuesday, May 2.?

Catalyst had implemented a Salesforce-based event management system for MOCE weeks before, and the AAPI Heritage Month event was its inaugural run. From collecting registration data to capturing walk-in’s in a more standardized way to facilitating the check-in process, this Salesforce solution was designed to help the MOCE spend more time interacting with attendees and less time shuffling through paper and spreadsheets trying to keep tabs on all guests.?

As our team observed the check-in table, with MOCE staff logged into Salesforce to view attendance reports and attendees scanning our QR codes that enabled them to check-into the event via a Salesforce form, it was energizing to see our build used in REAL-TIME in this way!?

As you may know, Catalyst is a minority-owned (Asian American) and immigrant-owned business. The month of May is inherently special given its observance of AAPI heritage, but it was all the more powerful to see leaders from across the City of Chicago celebrate the contributions of Asian Americans in shaping Chicago into the great city it is.?

It was a pleasure to attend such a special event and to see our tech in-action!?

The spring season has?come with many valuable experiences for our team, and we are excited to share more about our firm and our solutions in our upcoming newsletters! If you’re interested in learning more, we are more than happy to continue the conversation! Contact us at [email protected]!?
