Atomic Wallet Users Suffer $35 Million Loss in Crypto Attack

Atomic Wallet users have reportedly suffered losses of over $35 million as a result of a massive cyber attack. According to ZachXBT, an independent on-chain investigator, the top five incidents alone account for a total of $17 million in stolen crypto assets. Furthermore, ZachXBT has projected that loss total could eventually exceed $50 million. The most heavily impacted individual by the attack is estimated to have lost a staggering $7.95 million, primarily in the form of the cryptocurrency tether. Atomic Wallet claims to have over five million users worldwide, with those affected accounting for less than 1% of the company's monthly active user base. The company has responded to the incident by announcing its collaboration with third-party security firms to investigate further and prevent the stolen funds from being traded on crypto exchanges. At present, the last confirmed transaction related to the attack occurred over 40 hours ago. Atomic Wallet is continuing its security investigation with the aim of tracing and blocking stolen funds.
