At Atomi, we have consistently prioritised a long-term vision and mission, so we have adopted the five senses as our guiding principle. You can see it on our corporate website (www.atomi-jp.com), which was developed more than 15 years ago in May 2009. Singapore has long regarded shopping as a national pastime. As a city-state renowned for tourism, investment, and safety, a vibrant retail landscape is essential to serve residents and visitors. In light of this, atomi has been diligently evolving its product categories, service offerings, and business models to more effectively align with the needs of our customers, corporate clients, and partner agencies. The retail industry is in urgent need of substantial transformation in response to the rise of e-commerce, which is significantly influenced by generative artificial intelligence.

My experience in technology extends beyond my role as a solution architect in a software company and as a business intelligence manager in a financial institution; it also encompasses my recent position as a lecturer on undergraduate courses at a local university, wherein I successfully developed a new major in entrepreneurship. Furthermore, during my postgraduate studies, I collaborated with esteemed professors to investigate the mindsets of technopreneurs and the integration of cutting-edge technology with contemporary innovations and commercial practices, from ideation to implementation. These strategies will assist us in navigating the intricate challenges as we prepare for a new era in retail.

Our strategic action plans will propel atomi beyond traditional high-street retailing within a mall environment. It is imperative to rethink our design and procurement strategies, cultivate partnerships, and collaborate with genuinely passionate stakeholders about brand building. We seek to establish a more sustainable future by creating an ecosystem that fosters improved conditions for all participants. Our vision is to elevate retail to an advanced level, facilitating the involvement and collaboration of talent from diverse backgrounds and professionals from various sectors in managing a decentralised, peer-to-peer network of micro-ecosystems comprised of like-minded individuals and companies. We aim to attract more talent, develop unique brands, and incubate independent retailers to collaborate with atomi, thereby enhancing the glamour of the retail industry. Furthermore, we plan to initiate a design lab to innovate new products and embrace digital transformation to expand our niche customer base beyond local borders.

Brands from Europe and Scandinavia have long been the torchbearers of the luxury market, yet now is the moment for independent brands to shine. Drawing on our extensive experience in fitting out projects in Singapore and Japan, designing and developing malls, and reinventing brands, we are poised to guide our esteemed clientele in reimagining a lifestyle that transcends the city. Our inspiration comes from nature, where we find solace in the lush greenery of spring & summer, the vibrant red leaves of autumn, and the serene blanket of snow in winter. This idyllic setting offers a perfect retreat or sanctuary, inviting those who seek peace away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd.
