Cloud Progression.

This is the current Cloud Journey. Most of the organizations are moving to VM Containers in the next 2-3 years.

What to expect next?

FAAS (Serverless) is a natural pattern for progression. This progress requires a minimum degree of latency. In the next 2-3 years, cloud providers will focus on building mini data centers and delivering low latency services. Like Bank ATM's Cloud Providers will set up a mini data center to support low latency services.

Companies like Vapor IO, EdgeConneX, Acronis, Kaminario, Iomart have started to operate in this direction. Vapor IO mini datacenter, which will be deployed near cell phone tower.
