It is very hard choosing the right photographer. There is a lot of competition out there these days, but there are only a few that really make it big in such huge cities across the world.
There are some very important factors that play a huge part in choosing the best photographer in Atlanta for your portrait photography. Although, I would love to tell you I’m the best at what I do, it doesn’t mean you aren’t going to do your research on others! So ask yourself these questions.
Have you looked at the photographers portfolio and samples? If they don’t have any social media pages or a website then that should be a huge red flag. Not to say anyone who doesn’t have a presence online is a bad photographer, but they may certainly be outdated and you want someone who knows what is important in today’s photography.

Have you researched previous work? Start your search by reading reviews from recent clients. Carefully review potential photographers’ websites and blogs, which will give you an idea of their style. How do they capture the moments important to you? Is feedback from clients positive? How does the photographer respond to the feedback? How do they interact with their Instagram followers? Do they seem friendly and personable?
Have you spoken with your potential photographer? It is best to meet the potential photographers in person to really see for yourself if they are who people describe themselves to be. If you like what you see, call to see if they’re available for your date. Talk to them to ensure they are able to do what you need them to do.
Don’t try to compare professional photographers to a person who does it as a side job and has absolutely no experience in the field. Take a look at their packages and see if professional retouching is included. How many image files are included with your package? Are additional digital files available?
