ATIKU HAILS ISSA ODIDI'S EXPLOITS

FORMER VICE PRESIDENT of Nigeria and the 2019 pesidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. has congratulated the distinguished and renowned scientist Professor Isa Odidi on his exploits as the first Nigerian and African to establish a high tech pharmaceutical facility in China. The former Vice President notes that Odidi’s achievements in Canada and recently in China, are a welcoming addition to the glowing credentials that Nigerian professionals have built over the time.

Further, he observed that Nigerian professionals in the Diaspora like Professor Odidi have earned a reputation for entrepreneurship and hard work, and are therefore worthy ambassadors of the country. He described the Supremo of Intellipharmaceutics (Toronto, Canada) and Smart Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Limited, owned by Odidi and his wife, Dr Amina Odidi, as ‘a state of the art pharmaceutical manufacturing company’ especially the R&D plant in China. “It is cheering news that in spite of our current challenges at home, compatriots such as Professor Odidi are making the country proud in their respective professions.

“Our compatriots in the Diaspora are showing us the way that a new Nigeria is possible where the wealth of the country will not only come from the natural resource deposits inside our ground but also from the intellectual powers of what we have inside our heads. “Therefore, our responsibility is to endeavour to make it easier and convenient for the inflow of cutting edge technology to Nigeria, especially encouraging and creating an enabling environment for Nigerians in the Diaspora to deploy their skills in Nigeria so that our people can benefit from it through jobs creation, skills transfer and revenue to the country.

“I congratulate Professor Odidi on his impressive achievements and urge Nigerian professionals at home and in the Diaspora to continue to put daring challenges to the frontiers of knowledge because the greatness of our country is in the scope of their intellectual firmament” said Atiku, as contained in a statement signed by his Media aide, Paul Ibe, earlier this year.
