?There is a lot going on in the world of renewables, this week in anticipation to COP 26 (Glasgow, November 2021) we have heard a fair share of climate pledges and one-upmanship both from Biden and Xi Jinping regarding the climate crisis. Whilst the US will double its finance for climate issues, China will not build new coal-fired projects abroad.

Meanwhile the electricity price crisis goes on in Europe, as the prices of gas keep hitting record highs combined with higher prices of CO2 emissions. The answers to those issues aren′t going to sort out the problem short-term, but voices are raised about increasing renewable and evolving capacity markets to ensure less reliance on fossil fuel price volatility.

In the US, energy storage technologies and dispatchable renewables are gaining the attention of financers and policymakers as more efforts to evaluate the full value of technologies in the grid, in order to procure generation that not only provides energy but also provides grid stability, firmness and flexibility.
