The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has become popular because of its frequent strikes over the years. The inability of the Nigerian government to meet the demand of this union has resulted in various strikes in the past years. Currently, ASUU is another strike, with the threat to go on a full-blown strike if the government does not meet it demands. This strike has halted learning activities in many schools across the country, leading to stagnation in the academic journey of many Nigerian students.

The most alarming scenario is the recent event that transpired between the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and the representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in which the Minister of Education angrily walked away from a meeting with the representatives of the union without properly addressing the strike issue or providing possible solutions to it. This scenario has angered many students and bodies across the country, including the Trades Union Congress (TUC), as this body has threatened to go on strike if the government and ASUU do not resolve their differences.?
