ASU+GSV attendees shaping the future of education
Reid Hoffman
Co-Founder, LinkedIn & Inflection AI. Author of Superagency. Investor at Greylock.
I’ve been to my share of conferences, but 2024 marks my first time attending the ASU+GSV Summit , an annual gathering of innovators and technologists who are focused on the future of education and workforce development.?
Thousands of people attend the Summit in person and even more join online. More important than the Summit’s sheer scale is the shared intent of the speakers and attendees: to build a brighter future that’s accessible to all, especially through delivering education and workforce skills in new, scalable ways.?
While at the Summit, I met, saw, or reconnected with some impressive people, and I want to take a moment to highlight a few of them:
Byron Auguste
Opportunity@Work —the nonprofit that Byron Auguste co-founded to open pathways for the 70 million+ U.S. workers without bachelor’s degrees—is using AI exactly how I believe it should be used: as an amplifier of human talent.
Leigh Ann DeLyser
In addition to being my Possible podcast co-host Aria Finger ’s former high school computer science teacher, Leigh Ann DeLyser is the co-founder and executive director of CSforALL , and a leading voice in CS and AI education.?

Michael M. Crow?
美国亚利桑那州立大学 has a reputation for its innovative approach toward learning, which comes as no surprise once you’ve spoken with ASU President Michael Crow .?
Pat Yongpradit
Pat Yongpradit is the Chief Academic Officer at Code.org , a nonprofit I’ve long supported for its work promoting and shaping K-12 computer science education. A former classroom teacher, he is doing critical work not only to influence CS education, but also to empower educators to use and teach AI. I’ll be following up with more of our conversation in the next few months.?
For those who want to catch the final day (4/17) of the ASU+GSV Summit , you can livestream select talks here: https://www.asugsvsummit.com/live

10 个月This was my first time attending the summit and the phrase “ It’s nothing like you’ve been to before” barely begins to encompass the magnitude of the ASU+GSV Summit! While I did not have much time to attend sessions during the show I did have a chance during the ASU+GSV AIR Show to hear Bethanie Drake-Maples. She spoke on the direction of AI in education, and the need to use these tools as an aid instead of relying fully upon it. Also a raw and heartfelt speech from Luis von Ahn during his lifetime achievement award presentation at the Shell! Can’t wait to see what next year brings!
