Leo Season began on 22nd July and continues until the 23rd of this month, when the Sun moves into the 2nd earth sign, Virgo. August is a solar blend of fire and earth elements, which helps us to combine confidence and comprehension skills in ways that enable us to apply our skills, tools and techniques efficiently and effectively.
Here are the highlights in this month’s astrological cycles. Invite them to guide and empower your manifestation projects and ask for their assistance when you struggle to cope with the harsher aspects of life on Planet Earth.
WEEK ONE 01-07 August
I feel that it is important to carry the interpretations for 29-31 July over from last month because they remain very relevant to present times. Mercury in Leo forms grand cross pattern with Nodes in Taurus & Scorpio and Saturn in Aquarius. Uranus conjunct North Node in Taurus. You are standing on the threshold of the future, poised and ready to move into a new era of existence. What could possibly be holding you back? Probably some form of stubborn resistance which stems from deeply engrained thought patterns. You have been indoctrinated with ideas that are well passed their sell-by date, yet they continue to exert a strong influence. It might take a while for you to extricate yourself from their clutches but once you have, they will no longer be able to prevent your progress.
1 August Mercury in Leo trine Eris in Aries. Mars conjunct North Node & Uranus in Taurus. These planetary patterns give positive support if you are hoping to get your message across more assertively. It is better to stick firmly to a communication style that is honest and direct as this is likely to offer the kind of reassurance that encourages people to believe in you and to accept that the information you are giving them is authentic and correct.
On a global level, the conjunction of Mars, North Node & Uranus at 18-19 degrees of zodiac sign Taurus 1-2 August (depending on where you are in the world) is very significant. There have been several similar occurrences between 5 June 324 BC and now, but I have not been able to find anything to match the exactitude of this event.
It’s a big deal alright, as confirmed by the Sabian Symbol for the 18th to 19th degree of Taurus which is “A new continent is rising out of the ocean”. The obvious concern is that seismic shifts and upheavals – whether they be natural, climatic or self imposed – are going to cause significant disruption around the world.
The energy should manifest as some form of evolutionary change (North Node conjunct Uranus) but it is likely to provoke actions or movements that are dynamic, sudden, unpredictable, violent, aggressive and explosive (Mars conjunct Uranus). The sign of Taurus relates to Planet Earth, its life forms, ecology, environment, climate, geography and natural resources. Taurus is also connected to man-made buildings and structures and is the sign associated with finances and other forms of material wealth.
It is interesting to note that the most recent conjunction in Taurus of North Node, Mars and Uranus took place on 17 May 1855, which followed Aleksandr Romanov becoming tsar of Russia and preceded the capture of Sevastopol which effectively defeated the Russians in the Crimea War of October 1853-February 1856.
2 August Venus in Cancer trine South Node in Scorpio. Call on previous generations in your ancestral line to guide you on how to use your natural talents in ways which guarantee results that leave you with a satisfying sense of fulfilment. Remember that these abilities have been placed at your disposal to enrich and enhance your personal enjoyment of life.
4 August MERCURY MOVES INTO VIRGO
Mercury’s influence is increased thanks to its rulership of efficient earth sign Virgo, making this placement spot on for working with detailed information, facts and figures. It would be the right time to test your ideas to see which skills, methods and techniques you will need to use in order to get the most well organised and effective results. But try not to get too stressed about making mistakes and avoid the temptation to obsess over minor details. Ironically, worrying about errors which might never happen is the best way to ensure that they actually do crop up and spoil your otherwise immaculate output! 7 August Venus in Cancer square Eris in Aries and trine Neptune in Pisces. Mars in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius. Stand strong in situations where you are being asked to empathise with selfish people who are trying to pull rank by promoting their interests as more urgent than yours. They are denying themselves any right to your consideration by taking an arrogant, unsympathetic stance towards you.
WEEK TWO 08-14 August
8-11 August Sun in Leo trine Chiron in Aries, square Nodes in Taurus & Scorpio and square Uranus in Taurus. Your self-healing process is enhanced by the confidence you have in your ability to cope with radical change. You walk this path with your ancestors standing at your shoulder, offering you the benefit of their own experience of enduring through challenging times of transition. Your progress contributes to the healing of their wounds as much as it does to your own.
9 August Venus in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Do not let the personal relationships you hold dear be influenced negatively by outside forces and events, however powerful. On the other hand, you should not be shy about demanding answers to difficult questions – particularly if you have any suspicions that you are being coerced or betrayed in order to serve someone else’s vested interests. They have no right to force you to provide unwilling support for their hidden agendas.
11 August Jupiter in Aries trine Ceres in Leo. This pattern offers pioneering potential for personal success that starts with a willingness to strike out on your own. Take the opportunity to showcase your courage and independence as well as your belief that you are capable of producing something extra special, with a star quality which is second to none.
11 August VENUS MOVES INTO LEO
Lavish attention on your relationship with your Self and engage with the Inner Child who still craves your unconditional approval. This is a partnership which must be prioritised. Because if you cannot love, respect and admire You, how will you be able to allow anyone else to offer the adoration you deserve? 12 August FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS square Uranus in Taurus
It is possible that things are turning out rather differently from how you were expecting them to. This full moon emphasises the importance of innovation as well as the role played by kindred spirits, groups and teams in bringing your plans to fruition. It is important that you feel free to express all that is original about you. Embrace the qualities which make you different, do not try to normalise or regulate them.
Because the Moon moves on to conjunct Saturn and then square Mars in Taurus, it may seem as though your determination to break free from stagnant situations is being sorely tested. I can’t think of a better energy mix if you are in need of a confidence boost to help you take a more optimistic outlook on your situation. Your ability to showcase your extra special qualities and to convince others of their excellent value is supercharged at the moment. All you have to do is drop any semblance of shyness and let your light blaze out as brightly as possible.
20 August MARS MOVES INTO GEMINI
Use this inquisitive energy to educate yourself, especially in areas that can improve your fluency and communication skills. This is a very good time to set your intentions on optimising the general efficiency, health and wellbeing of your daily life. Aim to start afresh insofar as your anxiety levels are concerned. It is not your job to heal the world, or to carry the burdens of people who are too arrogant or lazy to look after themselves.
Please do not harass yourself with deadlines and timetables as this form of self-bullying will only serve to scatter your energy. By all means set targets but these should be movable, to give you flexibility and the option to find better ways of doing things.
