astedis steel partners at successful working meeting in Dortmund
The five astedis partners came together in Dortmund at the end of January for their first network meeting of the year. Together, they shared strategic ideas, exchanged initial experiences and talked about future projects.
In addition, various concrete measures for the year 2024 were discussed and decided upon in order to drive forward the vision of astedis.
The participants rated the meeting as a complete success. The participants included Jose Miguel Lorente Gómez from Coalsider, Micha? Fory?, EMBA from the European Steel Group, Stefano Dall'Aglio from Sider, Marc Sigot from GROUPE SOCODA, as well as Claudio Kemper , Christopher Rüther and Dirk Held from NORDWEST.

The focus is on promoting effective collaboration and driving the Group forward in the current year. A clear roadmap for this includes the implementation of a package of measures in the area of marketing and increased networking at trade fairs. One example of this is the participation of our astedis partners with a joint stand at the SOCODA Convention in Lyon in mid-March. Planned discussions and meetings with around 30 steel suppliers are scheduled there, as well as an extensive plenary programme on various industry topics.
Since it was founded in September 2023, astedis has stood for strong partnerships and joint success. The five partners are in constant communication, hold numerous discussions with suppliers and trading partners and are consistently committed to realising the astedis vision. The co-operative network aims to become an important sales reference for the most important European producers and to establish and deepen strategic working relationships with all major European manufacturers.
The five purchasing companies - Coalsider from Spain, European Steel Group from Poland, Sider Center from Italy, GROUPE SOCODA from France and NORDWEST - currently manage a purchasing volume of around 3.5 million tonnes of steel products. In total, this new network represents over 200 medium-sized steel trading companies.
