Today at work, I came across a beautiful light skinned lady who seemed to be in her late 20s. She owned a chick SUV and looked really nice.
The first thought that came to me was; well she’s pretty enough to get a sugar daddy and for the life of me, I’m still disappointed in the way my mind worked.
That ugly voice whisperer almost overcame my mind with envious thoughts which thankfully I was able to brush aside. Upon further investigation via LinkedIn, I saw that the lady in question actually graduated from the university a year before I became a freshman at the Uni. Interesting isn’t it? I saw that she had been climbing the professional ladder for over Ten years!
Of course she owned a car, of course she looked great (her genes also helped I’m sure)
The nice clothing's, cars, houses and other good things of life are wonderful to own, in fact it is easy to envy those who have them. The people we want to become, look like they may be our "age" mates but trust me they aren’t;? even if they were, their life’s journey may be completely different from ours. More often than not, they have paid their dues in sweat and blood.
I learned a lesson today and came to the realization that; First, I’m not as progressive in my thinking as I thought I was.

There’s more that I can do to not judge people harshly based on what I perceive to be true.
Secondly, I appreciate the tiny voice in my mind reminding me to admire and aspire rather than envy.
Thirdly; people do eventually reap what they sow; those who burn the midnight oil of working hard and smart will gain the rewards.
Finally; life’s a journey and things will eventually make sense, sooner or later.
From yours sincerely,
Mimi?
