Associate Director - Ecology - ￡45000 - ￡65000

I have a new role, Associate Director of Ecology based on the outskirts of Brighton. This is a new role due to the phenomenal growth of my client, a well established and well respected Environmental Consultancy.

The Associate Director of Ecology will be leading a small team initially, with a focus on growing the offering for clients, and growing the team. My client has a strong order book of work already, but are currently unable to offer some of the solutions which they would like to, due to lack of experience and resource within their Ecology team. 

From a technical perspective, you will have worked your way up the ranks having great field skills. You are highly likely to have at least a couple of protected species licences. From a desk based perspective, it will be a given that you know your way around ecological reports. What will set you above the rest however, is your leadership capability. You will be a safe pair of hands in getting the best from your team, and you will also inspire clients as you tender for new projects.

It’s important that you have demonstrable experience of managing large complex projects, road and rail maintenance are by client’s bread and butter work, however, they which to enter other areas too.  My client prides themselves on having close knit and happy teams. It’s important to them that whatever level you’re working at, you are happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in when needed.

We all know that job titles can vary drastically. The right person for this role may be currently working as a Senior or Principal Ecologist with another company. This role offers a flexible working pattern, with working from home very popular amongst the team, but you must be based close enough to the office to be able to commute in where needed. You will also be developing a team, so will need to see them regularly to do that.
