Art Dumay is a long-established art dealer in Nuenen, although these days, we are not only an art dealer but also a project office. We act as intermediary through online sales, appraisals, restoration, framing, collection management and art-related events. We undertake all of this not only on behalf of private individuals, but also for collectors, companies and organisations. In addition, Art Dumay has its own restoration and framing studio (since 1937).

And in doing so, we take care of the whole process, from A to Z, from picking up the art collection (if necessary) all the way to settling the finances. Whether it’s a single classic oil painting belonging to a private individual or a company’s entire collection, you won’t have to worry about a thing.

Many companies, authorities and organisations have purchased art in the last decade. Repositories of corporate collections at municipalities, hospitals, banks and offices are often filled with stocks of paintings and art objects. This is the result of years of collecting. Something that used to be considered inappropriate is now open for discussion: companies are collecting. De-collecting is important in the management of corporate collections. Selling items from the collection enables new purchases to be made or existing collections to be refurbished and displayed. Art Dumay has complete knowledge of, and experience in, such matters as legislation and regulations with regard to the LAMO (guidelines for deaccessioning), inheritance law and ‘droit de suite’ (artist’s rights on resale) and where necessary, is able to take care of those matters for its clients.
